Join our new Culture, Diversity and Inclusion directorate in Professionalism and take on a role at the heart of Inclusion. If you’re passionate about Diversity, Inclusion and Equality, this role is the right one for you. You’ll be part of our Strategy, Coordination, and Insights cell in the CD&I directorate. The Directorate is looking for an exceptional individual to help embed the CD&I OCU into the organisation. This is an exciting and challenging role requiring energy, an inquisitive experiential mindset, and powerful people skills.

The CD&I Continuous Improvement team will ensure CD&I OCU functionality is effectively integrated into the MPS to deliver a lasting and sustainable impact at all levels across the Met.

The Continuous Improvement team will work in partnership with all areas of CD&I and enabling functions of HR, L&D, Comms & Engagement, DDAT, and Performance to bring innovative thinking to the Met in how we create and deliver our Culture, Diversity, and Inclusion strategic ambitions. They will support the work of the Senior Lead, and Lead to act as the bridge between the CD&I and wider stakeholders within the Met, providing business groups with a contact point for advice on processes, systems and activity taking place to achieve our aims set out in the Culture Delivery Plan and New Met for London.

You will work to deliver effective and efficient functionality of the newly built CD&I unit. Working with stakeholders at all levels to deliver a framework through which the CD&I Strategy is embedded into organisational governance.

You will be strong in communicator with a natural but confident communication style. You will have a thirst for continuous improvement and understanding performance processes, with an ability to build strong business relationships with a diverse variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong and clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate cross functions, as this will be key to your ability to achieve results.
  • Understanding of how to identify and manage stakeholders.
  • Very good analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experienced IT user (competent in Excel and Word) and the ability to adapt and understand corporate/ standalone systems applications. You will also be experienced in producing good visual representations via PowerPoint of complex information.
  • Capability to work with MS 365 and SharePoint and other systems.
  • A self-starter with the ability to prioritise workload and task effectively, being proactive and taking initiative.
  • Creates an environment in which people are involved, included, and have a sense of ownership.
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues and peers internally and externally.
  • Influence decision making through challenge and insight, recognising, and escalating complex and sensitive issues.
  • Advocate CD&I for the Met and in CD&I Directorate by providing advice in a timely fashion.
  • Awareness of the Equality Act 2010 and Public Sector Duty responsibilities
  • Aware of good practice and industry trends in the Culture, Diversity, and Inclusion space.
  • Must be able to travel flexibly across the met estate.
